This tree was almost lost forever. We spotted the tree contractor while the stick was still standing and offered to take it down if we could have it. Luckily, we got to this tree just in time to save it from the chipper! Another salvaged tree from around the corner. This one was recovered from Homestead Driver.
A beautiful white ash with some slight spalting and deep chocolate contrasting longitudinal grain. And although it was not the biggest tree we’ve ever recovered, at ~28” in diameter these slabs have produced some great book-matched tabletops!
Only one slab and a couple 4’ cutoffs remain. Enough for a bold entry table, sofa table, or bench.
