Log Recovery: Huge Hollow Sycamore from the shore of the Connecticut River

LOOKING FOR A DESIGN

Hollow sycamore with amazing red hues.

This tree came from a friend of WoodGeeks. It was on the property 20 feet from the river and rotten from the inside out. It had to come down. There are 2 sticks. The lower part of the tree is like a triangular tube. This stick will make an amazing one-piece waterfall style table. The upper part is also hollow and shaped more like a typical tube. Check out the redish and deep clay colors in that end grain of those sticks.

Sycamore is a fairly common tree in this area and can grow to massive sizes.
