Slabbing Session: Enormous Ash Glastonbury, CT - Lower Section

SLABS AVAILABLE

Enormous ash - slabbing the lower section

These are some serious slabs!

Mark contacted George to take a look at a HUGE tree that was just too close for comfort. After a closer look, we knew it had to come down. This was another white ash that had a large hollow section and had become too dangerous to ignore. This tree was nearly 5’ in diameter at the ground and 4’ diameter nearly 20’ up. At that point it split into several limbs…ultimately containing some crazy crotch grain. It took 2 days to drop and clean up, and transport back to the farm. Images below are only from the tree removal. See the two related galleries for the slabbing of this tree (lower and upper sections).

Over 15 slabs were produced from the lower 2 sections! All still available.
