and amazing grain!
We salvaged this tree from a neighbor of mine. We felled the 11-foot section and brought it to my house, right around the corner. We broke out the Alaskan mill and had it slabbed in a weekend. Of course, it had to dry, so we stickered-n-stacked it right there on my patio…for 2 years. Wifey didn’t love that!
We’ve made 2 book-matched tables out of this tree. We have a couple slabs left. This one here is the first commissioned table we have built. It incorporated a large hollowed out squirrel’s nest that we filled and stabilized with black epoxy.
